Privacy

This website collects nothing about who you are. There are no accounts, no forms, no newsletter, no comments, no advertising and no cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, so we know roughly how many of you there are and which pages you read, but not who you are or where else you go.

The Gogolis is made for very young children, so we keep as little as we can: counts of what is used, never anything about who used it.

Cookies

There are none, which is why you were not asked to accept any.

One thing is stored locally in your own browser: whether you chose the light or dark theme. It never leaves your device, is not sent to us, and is not used to identify you. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Videos

The songs on this site are hosted on YouTube. We deliberately do not load the YouTube player when the page opens. Instead you see a still image and a play button, and the player is only loaded if you press it.

Until you press play, the only thing this page requests from Google is the still image itself, from i.ytimg.com. Once you do press play, the video is loaded from youtube-nocookie.com and YouTube's own privacy policy applies to that playback, as it would on YouTube itself.

If you would rather not load anything from Google at all, watch the songs directly on our YouTube channel instead.

Fonts and third parties

This site uses the fonts already installed on your device. It loads no external stylesheets, no external fonts and no tag managers. The one script from elsewhere is Cloudflare Web Analytics, from static.cloudflareinsights.com, described below.

Server logs

The site is served by Cloudflare Pages, which processes standard technical request data (such as IP address) to deliver the page and protect against abuse. We do not receive, store or analyse per-visitor logs, and we do not build profiles from them.

Visit counts

Cloudflare, which already serves the site, counts page views for us with Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookie, stores nothing in your browser and does not follow you from site to site. We see totals — how many visits, to which pages, from which countries and on which kinds of device — and never a person.

Children

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age. The counts cannot be traced to anyone, so there is nothing about you to request, correct or delete. If you believe that is somehow not the case, please write to us and we will look into it immediately.

The app

The Gogolis app, for iPhone, iPad and Android, counts in the same spirit. When it closes it sends our own server anonymous counts: which games were opened and for how long, which tabs were used, and which videos and songs were tapped and previewed, and which of our playlists were opened, with the app's version, the kind of phone and the app's language. They carry no name, no ID for the child, the phone or the install, no advertising ID and no location, and a grown-up can switch them off on the app's Grown-ups tab. With no connection the counts are simply lost, and the app works the same. When it opens, it also asks our own server for the videos and songs that came out after its version, and their pictures, so they appear without an update; that request carries nothing about you, your child or the phone. News from us arrives the same way, and so do our playlists of songs. A video's or a song's page can also play about twenty seconds of it, from the same server and only when someone presses play. Nothing it fetches is kept, except which news you have closed, so it stays closed, and with no connection the app shows the ones it came with, no news and no previews. The only thing it keeps is your grown-ups settings, which parts of the app a child can open and how some of its games play, with the name and Gogoli you give each child if you add any, and their birth year if you give one, which decides the games they start with and where some of them start, the app's language and whether it is light or dark, if you choose them, a language and a look of a child's own, if you choose them, which version's welcome and news you have already seen, which news from us you have closed, whether you switched the counts off, the song or video preview each child was last listening to and how far into it, and the playlist it was playing from, if any, so it waits for them, and which of our new games, videos and songs each child has opened, only while they are new. They stay on your device, and in its backups on an iPhone or iPad, and are never sent to us; removing a child deletes their name, birth year, settings, their own language and look, that preview and what they opened. One game and the opening picture lean with the device, using its motion sensor; what it reads is used at once and never kept or sent. There are no ads and no accounts. One thing can be bought inside it, whole songs, by a grown-up after a question: the App Store or Google Play takes the payment, and RevenueCat, a service that checks the purchase with the store, knows it only by a random number it makes for that installation, which is gone when the app is removed. Its privacy label on the App Store lists usage data and purchase history not linked to you, and its data safety section on Google Play lists app interactions and purchase history.

The app's videos open on YouTube and its songs on Spotify or Apple Music, outside the app, and only after a grown-up has answered a question; once there, that service's own privacy policy applies, and a grown-up can switch videos or songs off for each child. Those are the only ways out of the app. It carries its own privacy policy, on the screen for grown-ups, and does not link to this page. The counts cannot be traced to anyone, so there is nothing to request, correct or delete; if you have a question anyway, write to the address below. How The Gogolis is made

The Gogolis are AI-generated — characters, music and animation. The lyrics are co-written by a person and AI, and a human chooses the final words. The characters and stories are human creative decisions. We mention it here because parents reasonably want to know.

Changes

If this ever changes — for example if we add a shop or a newsletter, which would live on a separate site aimed at adults — we will update this page before it happens, not after.
