Lyrics

The words as written. The Gogolis’ lyrics are co-written by a person and AI, and a human chooses the final words.

Intro

Look up high — what's bouncing in?
A great big H, let the fun begin!

Chorus

HA! HA! HA!
What starts with H?
Hat, horse, heart, hen and honey!
HA! HA! HA!

Verse 1 — Poff

Ha-ha-hat, one on top of two!
Poff has a tower going up to the sky —
Wibble, wobble, down they fly!

Verse 2 — Toti

Ha-ha-horse, so tall and white!
Toti looks up and up and up —
Hello up there, you great big horse!

Chorus

HA! HA! HA!
What starts with H?
Hat, horse, heart, hen and honey!
HA! HA! HA!

Letter sound

H says huh! Huh, huh, huh!
Open your mouth and breathe it out —
Not a buzz and not a hum,
Just a puff of air... that turns into a laugh! HA!

Verse 3 — Lilly

Ha-ha-hen, who's lost the way!
Lilly takes a wing and walks them home —
Cluck, cluck, thank you, Lilly!

Verse 4 — Gambo

Ha-ha-honey, sticky and gold!
Gambo dips a hand in deep —
Now the pot won't let go!

Quiz

Which one starts with H? ... Let's see!
Hat ... ... YES! ... Hen ... ... YES!
Honey ... ... YES! ... Apple ... ... no!
Ball ... ... no! HA! HA! HA! You found them all!

What starts with H?
Hat, horse, heart, hen and honey!
HA! HA! HA!

The eighth letter song. A big H bounces in and knocks over Poff’s tower of hats, Toti looks up and up at a great white horse, Mimi floats up holding a red heart balloon, Lilly walks a lost hen home, and Gambo dips a hand into the honey and cannot get it out again. Nibs asks the quiz, and is not easy to please.

“H says huh! Huh, huh, huh! Open your mouth and breathe it out.” H is a puff of air rather than a buzz or a hum, so the song never sings the letter’s name, which does not start with the sound at all. It lets the breath turn into a laugh instead: every chorus is “HA! HA! HA!”, a sound a two-year-old already knows how to make.
