Verse 1 — morning

Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
On his farm there was a cow,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
Moo, moo, moo!
Moo, moo, moo!
The happy cow says,
Moo, moo, moo!
Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!

Verse 2 — noon

Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
On his farm there was a pig,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
Oink, oink, oink!
Oink, oink, oink!
The little pig says,
Oink, oink, oink!
Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!

Verse 3 — evening

Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
On his farm there was a sheep,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
Baa, baa, baa!
Baa, baa, baa!
The fluffy sheep says,
Baa, baa, baa!
Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!

Verse 4 — last light

Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
On his farm there was a duck,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
Quack, quack, quack!
Quack, quack, quack!
The little duck says,
Quack, quack, quack!

All together

Moo, moo, moo!
Oink, oink, oink!
Baa, baa, baa!
Quack, quack, quack!
All the animals sing,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!
Old Macdonald had a farm,
Eya-Eya-Eyo!

The farm wakes up, and every animal on it has a voice. The day goes round in order: the cow in the barn in the morning, the pig in the pen at noon, the sheep in the meadow in the evening and the duck on the pond in the last of the light, each with its own sound to copy: moo, oink, baa and quack. Then everyone sings all four together, Eya-Eya-Eyo!

In the video, Nibs carries the milk pail and sits on the milking stool beaming up at the cow, and Mimi follows a little piglet along the fence. Poff answers every animal and gets the oink and the baa not quite right, until the duck quacks and Poff’s quack comes out perfectly. A duckling waddles up its little ramp to bed, and at sunset the whole farm waves goodbye.
