Lyrics

The words as written. The Gogolis’ lyrics are co-written by a person and AI, and a human chooses the final words.

Verse 1

The rain is gone, the sun is low,
A rainbow bends its sleepy bow.

Chorus

Red and orange, yellow, green,
Blue and purple, softly seen.
Rainbow, rainbow, glow so bright,
Hush now, little friends, goodnight.

Verse 2

Down the rainbow, soft and slow,
Three gentle unicorns, hooves aglow.
One by one the friends climb on,
Rocking, rocking, riding home.

Colours

Red for Gambo, orange Poff,
Yellow Nibs, the lights go soft.
Green for Lilly, blue for Toti,
Mimi glows them all, so floaty.

Chorus

Red and orange, yellow, green,
Blue and purple, softly seen.
Rainbow, rainbow, glow so bright,
Hush now, little friends, goodnight.

Verse 3

The rainbow fades to twinkly light,
The unicorns whisper, "Sleep tight."
Snuggle down in cosy beds,
Rainbow dreams in sleepy heads.

Chorus

Red and orange, yellow, green,
Blue and purple, softly seen.
Rainbow, rainbow, glow so bright,
Hush now, little friends, goodnight.

Outro

(humming)

A lullaby for the end of a rainy day. The rainbow bends its sleepy bow, three gentle unicorns come down it, and the friends climb on and are rocked home. One verse hands out the colours — red for Gambo, orange for Poff, yellow for Nibs, green for Lilly, blue for Toti, and Mimi glowing them all — which is the band’s own rainbow, the one Eat the Rainbow is built on.

It gets quieter as it goes: the rainbow fades to twinkly light, the unicorns whisper “Sleep tight,” and the last part is only humming.
