Lyrics

The words as written. The Gogolis’ lyrics are co-written by a person and AI, and a human chooses the final words.

Chorus

Animals, animals, big and small,
Listen to the sound and name them all!

Verse 1

Woof, woof! Who can that be?
A DOG! A DOG!
Bouncing with Poff, as happy as can be!

Verse 2

Meow, meow! Who can that be?
A CAT! A CAT!
Curled up by Nibs, as sleepy as can be!

Verse 3

Ooh-ooh, ah-ah! Who can that be?
A MONKEY! A MONKEY!
Laughing with Gambo, up in a tree!

Chorus

Animals, animals, big and small,
Listen to the sound and name them all!

Verse 4

Roar, roar! Who can that be?
A LION! A LION!
One big roar blows Mimi — wheee!

Verse 5

Ribbit, ribbit! Who can that be?
A FROG! A FROG!
Hop, hop, hopping over to Lilly!

Verse 6

Hmm? Hmm? Who can that be?
A GIRAFFE! A GIRAFFE!
So tall, and quiet as can be!

Chorus

Animals, animals, big and small,
Listen to the sound and name them all!

Outro

Dog and cat and monkey too,
Lion, frog, giraffe — we love you!
Bye-bye, animals, see you soon!

Every verse is the same small riddle: a sound first, “Who can that be?”, and then the answer shouted out. A dog bounces with Poff, a cat curls up beside Nibs, a monkey laughs with Gambo up a tree, a lion’s roar blows Mimi away, and a frog hops over to Lilly.

The last riddle is the clever one. Its sound is “Hmm? Hmm?”, because a giraffe makes almost none — so tall, and quiet as can be — and a child who has been guessing from the noise has to guess from the silence instead.
